Finding Dialysis Care

Questions about searching for and choosing a dialysis centre.

How do I find a dialysis centre on eDialysis.org?
Use the eDialysis.org search to enter where you need dialysis, whether you need transit or permanent care, your preferred treatment date and your treatment type. You can then review participating centres and submit a treatment request.
What information can I use to search for a dialysis centre?
You can search using location, patient need, preferred treatment date and treatment type, such as Haemodialysis or Haemodiafiltration. Available filters depend on the information provided for participating centres.
Can I search for dialysis centres outside my current location?
Yes. You can search another location when travelling, returning home, relocating or planning treatment in advance.
Can I search for dialysis centres outside Malaysia?
You can search for participating centres available on eDialysis.org in supported locations. International coverage depends on the countries and centres currently listed on the platform.
What information can I see about a dialysis centre?
A centre profile may include its location, contact details, treatment types and services, operating information, patient acceptance status, facilities, photographs and other public information provided by the centre.
How do I know whether a centre accepts Transit, Permanent or hepatitis patients?
Participating centre profiles may show whether the centre accepts Transit Patients, is open for Permanent Patients and accepts patients with hepatitis where applicable. Final acceptance remains subject to the centre's facilities, capacity and clinical assessment.
Does a centre appearing in my search mean treatment is available?

What should I do if I cannot find a centre that matches my needs?
Adjust your location, preferred date or treatment type and consider nearby centres where appropriate. Contact eDialysis.org support if you still need assistance.

Transit & Permanent Patients

Information for travelling patients and patients looking for ongoing dialysis care.

What is a Transit Patient?
A Transit Patient needs dialysis temporarily away from their usual centre. This may include travel, a family visit, work away from home or a temporary stay in another location.
What is a Permanent Patient?
A Permanent Patient is looking for a dialysis centre for ongoing treatment, for example after relocating, changing centres or needing a new regular centre.
What is the difference between Transit and Permanent Dialysis?
Transit Dialysis is temporary treatment away from a patient's usual centre. Permanent Dialysis is ongoing treatment at a new or regular centre.
Can I use Transit Dialysis when travelling?
Yes. You can search for participating centres in your destination and submit a request before travelling. Supported locations depend on the centres currently listed on eDialysis.org.
Can I use eDialysis.org if I am relocating or looking for a new permanent centre?
Yes. Search for centres in the new location that indicate they are open for Permanent Patients, then submit a request for the centre to review.
Does selecting Transit or Permanent mean a centre will automatically accept me?
No. Selecting your patient need helps identify relevant centres. Final acceptance depends on the centre's capacity, availability, treatment requirements and clinical assessment.
What information might a centre need before accepting my treatment request?
The centre may ask for patient, treatment and medical information such as a dialysis prescription, treatment history, recent laboratory results, medication details and infection screening information. Requirements vary by centre.

Treatment Requests & Confirmation

Questions about sending, reviewing and confirming dialysis treatment requests.

How do I submit a treatment request?
Find and review a participating centre, then select the option to submit a treatment request. Provide the requested patient, treatment and date information before sending it to the centre.
Can a caregiver or family member submit a request for me?
Yes. A caregiver or family member may assist, provided the information is accurate and submitted with the appropriate patient authorisation or consent.
What information may be required when submitting a request?
You may be asked for contact and identification details, your preferred date, Transit or Permanent Patient status, treatment type and relevant treatment or medical information. The exact requirements may vary.
Does submitting a request mean my treatment is confirmed?
No. A treatment request is not a confirmed booking. The selected dialysis centre must review and accept the request before treatment is confirmed.
What happens after I submit my request?
The request is sent to the selected centre. The centre reviews its availability and your treatment requirements, may request more information and then advises whether it can accept the request.
Who reviews and confirms my treatment request?
The selected dialysis centre reviews and confirms the request. Clinical assessment, treatment availability and final acceptance remain the responsibility of the centre.
Can I change or cancel a treatment request?
You may ask to change the preferred date or cancel a request. Any change remains subject to the centre's availability and instructions, especially if treatment has already been accepted.
What should I do if the centre cannot accept my request or I have not received a response?
Check the request status and available messages, then follow up with the centre where appropriate. You can also search for another participating centre or contact eDialysis.org support.
